Your physical therapist will use a comprehensive approach in determining exactly what you will need to obtain the maximum benefit from your rehab. First, your therapist will do a thorough evaluation and then develop a customized plan of care that addresses all of these specific findings. Sometimes a home exercise program is developed and given to you to perform in between sessions.

In Oregon you can see a physical therapist without a referral from a physician. However, your insurance may require a referral from a physician to cover your expenses. To find out, call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask if a referral is necessary for coverage of physical therapy.

We participate with almost all health insurance and auto insurance programs, including Medicare and Worker’s Compensation. Please call any location to find how we can handle your insurance coverage.

We also participate in the Volunteers in Medicine for the uninsured.

We participate in CareCredit, a medical credit card program. For more information about Care Credit, go to or call 1-800-365-8295.

Please don’t hesitate to call us if you have other questions about insurance coverage.

Wear comfortable, loose clothing and tennis shoes. We have a changing room available for your convenience. Please be conscious of wearing loose clothing around the area specific to your injury. Example: neck or shoulder injury, wear a tank top, knee or hip injury, wear shorts, etc.

If you are coming for aquatic therapy please come already wearing a one piece bathing suit and don’t forget a towel.

Your first visit includes the comprehensive evaluation and takes 60-90 minutes. Sessions thereafter are determined by your condition, approximately 45-60 minutes. Your physical therapist will develop an individually customized plan of care, so each program will be specific to your needs.

Your Plan of Care will be constructed based on the recommendation of your doctor and your physical therapist. The average physical therapy schedule is 1-3 times per week. Your schedule will depend on the degree of injury/dysfunction and your available time. Bring your calendar to your first appointment so you can schedule your appointments as far in advance as possible, this will make it easier to choose times that are the most convenient for you.

Please feel free to call your physical therapist if you ever have any questions regarding your treatment or your home exercises.

Your Rebound physical therapist is in regular communication with your doctor, especially if there are any complications.

Rebound Physical Therapy adheres to all the requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, commonly known as HIPAA.

Are you looking for a job in hand therapy that includes a mentorship program to help ensure you pass your CHT exam?

The Desert Hand Therapy mentorship program was created in 2016 and is offered as a 3-year program. This duration allows for the amount of experience needed in order to sit for the CHT exam. Therapists in the program will work closely with one of our experienced certified hand therapists in one of our nine clinics across the valley. The mentee will get hands on training and mentorship, learn the art of custom thermoplastic splinting, and outlines to provide continued learning on general patient care and specific treatment plans and outcomes. Mentees also participate in monthly therapist meetings with over 20 therapists.

Our Vision with the Mentorship Program

Chris Reynolds, Founder of Desert Hand Therapy, created the mentorship program with the future of patient care in mind. The mentorship program helps guarantee that the future care provided at Desert Hand Therapy is in the hands of only the most qualified certified hand therapists (CHTs).

The Desert Hand Therapy Culture

We are a family at Desert Hand Therapy. We’re here to encourage, motivate, support, and challenge each other so we can provide the best care for patients. Always feel connected and supported by your coworkers and management.
